Yernur Rysmagambetov

Managing Director, Astana International Financial Center Authority

Mr. Yernur Rysmagambetov is a Managing Director, Management Board Member at the Astana International Financial Centre Authority.

Yernur is a graduate of California Institute of Technology with a degree in Business, Economics and Management. He also studied at the University College London under the student exchange program. In addition, Yernur is a CFA Charterholder.

Mr. Rysmagambetov started his career in investment banking in 2006 as a financial analyst at the JP Morgan Chase, and later at Wilshire Associates, Inc.  investment management firm.

Upon return to Kazakhstan, from 2008 to 2013, Yernur worked at the “Samruk-Kazyna” Real Estate Fund, and at the Al Falah Capital Partners Fund, where he held various positions from an investment analyst to an investment director. In the period of 2014 to 2016 Yernur served as Deputy CEO at the National Investment Corporation, the trust manager of part of foreign exchange reserves of the National Bank of Kazakhstan.

Additionally, Yernur is actively involved in educational and professional development sector.  From 2009 to 2015 he served a coach of the Kazakhstan’s National Physics Team.  As a result of his coaching career, the National Team won 29 out of possible 30 medals on IPhO in Mexico, Croatia, Thailand, Estonia, Denmark, Kazakhstan, and received an honor to hold an International Physics Olympiad in RK. From 2008 to 2012 Yernur coached gifted graduates in their college/career choices. Almost 200 students were admitted to top universities in US, UK, EU and Singapore.

Moreover, Yernur was elected as a Tresurer at International Physics Olympiad Foundation since July 2015. Mr. Rysmagambetov is also an Independent Board member at National Physics and Math School named after Zhautykov.
