Currently: Professor of Strategic Foresight, IE Business School, Chairman of the AIFC Academic Council, Chairman of the AIFC Bureau for CPD Board, Chief Strategy Officer of the AIFC Governor’s Council, and Managing Director, Sustainable Foresight Institute.

Previously: Member of the Board of the National Investment Corporation, Member of the Board of the Academy of the Regional Financial Center Almaty, Member of the Board of the Aktobe Oil Equipment Company, Managing Director with the Kazakhstan Development Bank, Managing Director with PFC Energy International, Senior Director and Head of Global Practices at the World Economic Forum, Senior Strategy and Portfolio Advisor to the Committee of Managing Directors with Shell International, Director and co-leader of the Shareholder Value Practice with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Engagement Manager with McKinsey & Company. Alexander was also a Visiting Professor of Strategic Foresight with INSEAD, a Professor of Finance and Dean of the Grande Ecole Programme with ESC Rouen, a Lecturer of Finance at the University of London, and has taught at IMD and Wharton.

Education: Alexander is an engineer and economist by training, was a BAEF Fellow at the Harvard Business School, and holds a PhD in Finance from the University of London, a Doctorate in International Relations from the Geneva School of Diplomacy, and a PhD in Engineering-Economic Systems from Cambridge University.

Professional Qualifications: NACD Governance Fellow; Certificate and Diploma in company direction (both with distinction) from the Institute of Directors; Financial Times Non-Executive Directors Diploma; Advanced Corporate Finance Diploma from the Amsterdam Institute of Finance & INSEAD.
