AIFC Bureau for CPD offers range of professional Programs in Islamic Finance developed by recognized institutions including BIBF (Bahrain), AAOIFI (Bahrain), INCEIF (Malaysia) and CISI (UK).

  • If you are not yet familiar with Islamic finance, CISI Islamic Finance Qualification is the starting point.
  • If you are already familiar with basics of Islamic finance and wish to get more advanced knowledge in particular specialization, then INCEIF Professional Certificate in Islamic Finance could be a choice.
  • If you are accountant or auditor, then AAOIFI Certified Islamic Professional Accountant gives full picture of existing shariah standards and governance for Islamic financial institutions
  • For those who are more senior and seeks for MBA opportunities, then BIBF Advanced Diploma in Islamic Finance could give such opportunity by option of MBA route through Bolton University.

Levels of certification

CISI Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ)

  • The Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ) is a global qualification, which covers basic concepts of Islamic finance. The IFQ is appropriate for existing and new employees, especially for those who want to be familiar with Islamic finance, it’s difference from conventional finance and terminology. It is developed by Chartered Institute of Securities & Investments and Central Bank of Lebanon.
    • 70 hours of intensive face-to-face training program
    • The qualification is completed by passing a exam of 100 multiple-choice questions.
    • Preparation, using the accompanying workbook and e-learning
    • Upper-intermediate level of English is required
    • Exam Centre in Astana & Almaty

BIBF Advanced Diploma in Islamic Finance (ADIF)

  • The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) is a training arm of the Central Bank of Bahrain. It collaborates with major service institutions such as the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) and patronage of the Central Bank of Bahrain.
  • BIBF Advanced Diploma in Islamic Finance (ADIF) offers a post-graduate diploma level qualification addressing the needs of both Islamic and conventional financial institutions providing Islamic banking services and products.
  • The ADIF is distance learning program that consist of the following six modules, which will be concluded through an examination on each subject:
    • Module 1: Islamic Commercial Jurisprudence
    • Module 2: Introduction to Trust, Banking and Business Laws
    • Module 3: Islamic Insurance (Takaful)
    • Module 4: Islamic Treasury, Capital Markets, and Risk Management
    • Module 5: Islamic Banking Operations
    • Module 6: Introduction to Islamic Accounting Standards
  • After the last session, students will sit a 3-hour final exam, making up 60% of the overall assessment for each module in addition to the 20% awarded for a final project and 20% for assignments and in-class exercises.

INCEIF Professional Certificate in Islamic Finance (PCIF)

  • International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF) was set up by Bank Negara Malaysia in 2005 and has been mandated to develop and nurture talent and experts in the Islamic financial services industry.
  • Professional Certificate in Islamic Finance (PCIF) program by INCEIF is developed to cater for industry professionals who wish to gain knowledge in certain areas of practice, in concise yet thorough curriculums.
  • 14-week distance learning program with 2 intakes during the year (January – May, and September – December).
  • Candidates will have an opportunity to choose from one of the four specializations offered by the PCIF program, which are:
    • Islamic Capital Market
    • Sharia for Islamic Finance
    • Islamic Banking
    • Islamic Wealth Management
  • You will be evaluated based on coursework and final examination marks.

AAOIFI Certified Islamic Professional Accountant (CIPA)

  • The Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) is an Islamic International autonomous not-for-profit corporate body that develops accounting, auditing, governance, ethics and Sharia standards for Islamic financial institutions and the industry.
  • Certified Islamic Professional Accountant (CIPA) has been designed for professionals and executives who are currently involved, or with interests, in accounting, auditing, and finance, especially for the International Islamic banking and finance industry, such as accountants and auditors, sharia auditors and Islamic finance practitioners, bankers, and professionals
    • The exam takes place two times a year, in June and December
    • The format of the exam is Multiple-Choice-Questions (MCQs)
    • Duration of the exam is two hours per each module
  • CIPA consists of four modules:
    • Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR);
    • Audit, Assurance and Ethics (AAE);
    • Business and Regulatory Environment (BRE);
    • Sharia Standards, B) Sharia Governance

Cost of courses

Fees for each professional qualification could be found on websites of AIFC Bureau Partners, however AIFC has special partnership prices ranging from 20% to 50% discount. Fees for the programs might be reimbursed upon successful completion of the program and passing the exam through “AIFC Conditional Grants” Program.

Bureau offers face-to-face courses for CISI Islamic Finance Qualification in Astana & Almaty. Next courses will start on November 24th. Training fee – 75,000 KZT.
