Professional in Human Resources - International™ (PHRi™)

  • The PHRi is for internationally based practitioners, validates professional-level competency, knowledge and skills to help to propel your HR career forward. With the PHRi, you demonstrate mastery of generally accepted technical and operational HR principles in a single international setting.

To be eligible for the PHRi you must meet one of the following conditions for education and experience:

  • Have at least one year of experience in a professional-level HR position + a master’s degree or global equivalent,
  • Have at least two years of experience in a professional-level HR position + a bachelor’s degree or global equivalent, OR
  • Have at least four years of experience in a professional-level HR position + a high school diploma or global equivalent.

The SPHRi  - Senior Professional in Human Resources - International™ (SPHRi™).

  • The SPHRi for internationally based HR leaders, validates senior-level HR competency and mastery of generally accepted HR principles in strategy, policy development and service delivery in a single international setting.

To be eligible for the SPHRi you must meet one of the following conditions for education and experience*:

  • Have at least four years of experience in a professional-level HR position + a master’s degree or global equivalent,
  • Have at least five years of experience in a professional-level HR position + a bachelor’s degree or global equivalent,
  • OR a minimum of seven years of experience in a professional-level HR position + a high school diploma or global equivalent.

* The SPHRi requires documented knowledge of local employment laws.

Courses start in September, duration 35 hours.
The year-round testing provides you with the most flexibility possible to accommodate your busy schedule.

A seasoned international Human Resource Professional, with a diverse background encompassing the successful management of Human Resource departments in government, manufacturing, transportation, and service industries, as well as expertise in both union and non-union environments. Former HR Director for multi-national corporations in the United States, overseeing operations across the U.S., Mexico and Canada, as well as the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Energy in the U.S. government sector. Over the past 10 years, Allan has worked throughout the EMEA region as an HR Expert Trainer & Consultant, specializing in HR certification programs, and topical HR subjects.

With a unique blending of academic and practical work experience, Allan is also an adjunct faculty member at Chifley Business School of Australia, Swiss Business School of Zurich and Geneva Business School of Geneva Switzerland, teaching a wide variety of HR, Management and Leadership courses at the MBA level throughout the UAE, as well as campuses in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. His passion and energy for Human Resources, coupled with a high level of expertise and keen presentation skills, have earned Allan a distinguished reputation as a Human Resource subject matter expert as well as an effective trainer and educator.

Allan holds a chartered MCIPD membership, a SHRM-SCP certification, and is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR). He became certified as a global Human Resource Management Professional (HRMP, SPHRi) in May, 2012 after participating in the new SHRM global pilot certification program.
Allan has recently become an HRCI Certified Preparation Provider for PHRi, SPHRi, PHR, SPHR pre-certification training programs.

He received his Master’s degree in Human Resource Management in 2003 from U.S. based Keller Graduate School of Management, graduating “with distinction” and is currently pursuing a doctoral program in Business.
